Most of the estates we manage belong to people living in Chennai, Bengaluru or abroad. The service exists because finding a reliable supervisor in a hill district is harder than finding the property was.
Management covers the full operating year: the pruning and trashing cycles, shade regulation, nutrition and plant protection rounds, and then the harvest — which on a spice estate means multiple picking rounds, not a single event, and a large temporary labour force to organise.
Processing follows immediately. Coffee has to be pulped and dried, cardamom cured, pepper threshed and dried, nutmeg and mace separated. Getting the produce off the estate and to a curing works, auction or trade buyer is part of the job.
Underneath it sits the administration: wage records, statutory compliance for the labour engaged, expenditure against budget, and a monthly report with photographs so the owner can see the estate without being on it.
